AI as a Tool, Not a Threat

Understanding Its Role in Our Lives

AI is not going to steal your job. Let's be realistic: AI is a tool, akin to an advanced printer. It's here to simplify your life, not to push you aside. The future is always approaching, but panicking or attempting to predict every outcome is futile. What's important is engaging in what you love, in the present moment.

I'm excited about AI and machine learning. They are transformative, providing you with an advantage over your problems and enhancing your abilities.

Rest assured, there is an AI that can significantly improve your life. However, AI is not a substitute for you. It's akin to a vast search engine, lacking the human touch. It possesses information but not the wisdom to apply it as we do. Understanding this should alleviate any concerns about AI dominance.

Life has evolved. We no longer overload our brains with facts; we simply remember where to find them. The responsibility lies with you—how you utilize that knowledge is your decision.

Humans are here to stay. We have not reached the point where AI can replicate our capabilities. Although some laboratories are developing more sophisticated AI, the notion of robots taking over is still far-fetched. Grasping how AI processes information will give you an edge.

Here's a professional tip: when querying AI, instruct it to "think step by step." This will prompt it to explain its reasoning, allowing you to understand its logic. This approach is called Chain of Thoughts.

Chain of thought prompting can be an effective method to enhance LLM clarity and creativity. Follow these three simple steps:

  1. Ask open-ended questions: Start by posing open-ended questions to ChatGPT that encourage it to think and reason. For instance, rather than asking "What is a dog?", you might ask "What are some interesting facts about dogs?" This prompts ChatGPT to generate more insightful and engaging responses.

  2. Use follow-up questions: After receiving an initial response, ask additional questions to delve deeper into the topic. This exploration allows you to understand various facets of the subject more thoroughly. For example, upon discovering interesting facts about dogs, you could inquire, "How do different dog breeds affect their behavior and temperament?"

  3. Encourage creativity: ChatGPT is designed to be inventive and generate novel ideas. Stimulate this by requesting it to brainstorm, speculate, or envision different scenarios. You could ask, "What would happen if dogs could talk? How would their communication differ from human communication?" This encourages you to think more inventively and consider new viewpoints.

Do not accept AI's responses as infallible—always verify them. By having AI explain its process "step by step," you can identify its mistakes. Errors often arise not because AI lacks intelligence, but because it has misunderstood the question.
